The Bible is not a scientific textbook. It was given to us by God to instruct us in the way of righteousness so that we can be reunited with Him. It was not given to us for explaination of how He created the universe. It is His way of guiding us back to Him!

Would you haved died for a lie? The most remarkable thing to consider about the disciples when you read them witnessing their lives with Jesus, was the fact that they were afraid, timid, and unsure before the death of Jesus. Once witnessing the resurrection of Jesus, they gave their lives to proclaiming the truth of what they have seen! They were willing to suffer and die greatly for standing upon the life of Jesus.

You do not just have to look to the Bible for answers. There are non-christian ancient historians for references to Jesus such as Pliny, Tacitus, and Josephus, who all refer to the life of Jesus. The Bible is rooted in history. Upon reading the Gospel Books in the Bible, I have discovered that Jesus' own disciples denied Him and ran away from Him during His trials before His death. It was only after they seen Him resurrected that they were willing to die or suffer greatly for His truth. The Bible claims to be the Word of the Living God..Words of Life..and when reading the Gospel Books in the Bible, it is like Jesus walking right off the pages and into my heart! The Bible was given to us by God Himself for righteousness. He has already given everyone faith. It is up to us if we want to increase it or not.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
There are plenty resourses out there that are non-biblical evidences of the witnesses of Jesus' Life here on Earth.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
